My dad died from heart failure on the 17th January 2000.
He left behind a loving wife, 2 sons and a daughter.......
He suffered his first major heart attack when i was 3 years old. I can still remember the ambulance arriving to take him to hospital.
His recovery was slow, as expected. He quit smoking and cut down on his drinking. He tried to give us a normal life and happy life, which he greatly succeded in doing.
Throughout our childhood he was in and out of various hospitals, no-one seemed to beable to help him. He was so ill all the time. I was 13 when a nurse pulled me into a side room with my mom and told us that he wont survive much longer. His heart was slowly failing.....Obviously being a typical teenager i refused to accept this.
On the 17th January he was rushed back into hospital after not long being discharged. He had to wait in a cold corridor for about 14 hours until they finally gave him a bed on a ward. He died 2 hours later with my mom holding him. After years of pain and fighting he gave up.
His funeral was on the 11th February. So many people came to pay their respects and as the herse drove away from the house everyone on the street came out of their houses and bowed their heads. It was such an emotional day.
My dad was a kind, generous, funny, absolutley amazing man and i feel blessed to have known him.
We will never forget you.....

just thought ld say hi as lm at anns parents with her as there away so lm watching megan its past her bed time annes tidying so lm messing about playing l see but all l can do is laugh ann say its not helping but shes the angel of her daddys eye. my day has been tiring but thats what its like as mom keeps telling me. i know that your proud of me but it was my dream to be a lorry driver like my old man. lts my turn for listening to thomas the tank in the cab as thats all megan watchs now.
